Shinagawa is an historical city from the Edo period and one of the post stations on Tokaido.
Shinagawa is still a major town in Tokyo and known as the terminal station of the JR and Keihin-Kyuko line. You can take the Tokaido Shinkansen (Bullet train) from here.
Since 2002, the Saikyo line, Shinjuku-Shonan line and Rinkai line stop at Osaki station. Osaki became one of the major transfer stations in Tokyo.
